Speaker Labs
Built to be impossible to ignore
(2016 - Present)
Eric and Eli started Speaker Labs in 2016 and I've been the designer on it since day one. Ten years of building the same brand, which is rare and honestly the most satisfying kind of work there is. Logo and identity first, then custom illustration, then the full website, then the sales collateral that gets it into the room at Shopify, Google, RBC, and TedX.
The brand is loud on purpose. They teach public speaking, so a quiet, tasteful, corporate look would have been a contradiction, and the category is full of them. We went retro pop art instead: dense black backgrounds, a vibrant green that's cranked as far up as it can go, and illustration everywhere. Nothing in the palette is muted. It's a brand that behaves the way they teach people to behave on stage, which is to take up space and be impossible to ignore.
